Offense: The Destiny Destroyer
Offense is running rapidly amongst the body of Christ. Attacking marriages, families, relationships, churches, and jobs.
Offense is like striking a match that is fueled by bitterness, resentment, un-forgiveness, and rage. Its main target is your mind. Attaching itself to your thought process like a ticker-tape rehearsing the offense. Surfacing emotions and hurts as if it just happened.
Offense loves company. It longs for you to share with others to get their approval for you to be offended. It is setting the stage even more for you to plot your revenge. All the while, you are being drawn away from God and fulfilling the devil's will for your life. Do you see? His motives are to deceive you, believing the lies, causing strife and division.
Mathew 24:10 “Many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.”
Jesus was letting the church know of that which was to come. It is God’s will for you to recognize the offense and be quick to forgive, releasing all people, events, hurts, and bitterness off of your heart.
When faced with a trial, remember:
James 1:19-20 “So, then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
So if you are dealing with offense and want freedom say this prayer out loud and give it to God.:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for helping me to recognize the offense in my heart. I renounce and repent for all offense, and I choose to forgive all events, people, hurt, and bitterness. I choose as an act of my will to lose all offense off my soul and give it to you. God, please give back to me that part of my soul that I had given away to offense and restore my soul. In Jesus name Amen.
