Battle Weary Soldiers
Building a strong mindset is essential for each of us because we cannot avoid the spiritual warfare that will come during our walk with God. The enemy uses the same tactic over and over with each human soul - distract us from knowing God and living out His purposes. If the enemy can do that, he will be successful in bringing emptiness and anxiousness to our hearts and minds.
Navy Seals go through a grueling training called “Hell Week.” This week consists of 5 1/2 days of brutally difficult training in cold, wet environments with fewer than four hours of sleep. To escape the torment, all they have to do is ring a bell… but as a result, they forgo their dreams of ever becoming a Navy Seal.
As a soldier of God, we go through grueling spiritual training in our lives. Through the training and the battles, we do not become Seals… rather we become warriors for God. Our faith in God increases with each victory. God is with us in the battle, teaching and equipping us to fight the enemy mentally. Therefore, we too, must refuse to ring the bell. We must refuse to back down from the fight, and continue running our race with confidence.
Through our trials we must learn to intentionally focus on God each day. We must appreciate where we are in the battle because each moment has a purpose that we cannot begin to comprehend. Chaos will erupt in the absence of authority - so take authority over the first thought. Resist the lies of the enemy and he will flee from you.
